“Fever Queen has released her debut, and it’s brilliant… Adopting a consistent dreamy lo-fi aesthetic throughout, Fever Queen sets up her own symphonic universe.”—The Rodeo

Fever Queen is the music and moods of Chicago-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Eleanor Rose Lee. On her debut album, The World of Fever Queen, Lee conjures up stark, psychy sounds and knock-your-socks-off melodies that cohere into a singular vision of love, dreams, and hesitations.
Lee's songs form a kind of journal. Mid-century melodies draw upon a childhood in Midwest choirs. Sparse instrumentation evokes cold city nights of getting weird and, in turns, dark highways and desolate lakeshores. The album's surfy wash taps into the bleached energy of Hawaiian farms and California hair salons. Torch songs, like "Love Last," are set in America's burnt-out husk—conjuring up some pitch black cocktail bar in the middle of nowhere. Endlessly layered vocals propel each moment to the next.
The World of Fever Queen is kaleidoscopic in its stylings and always intimate in its approach. This record is Lee's story of romance and loss made into a palpable, psychedelic sound.
“'Love Last'... which is a bit of moody slow burning psych-smoke that does a lovely job of shining the spotlight on Lee’s piercing vocals. These vocals are the main focus of the tune, with the slow march beat providing the bones to the song’s desolate soundscape...”— Austin Town Hall
The World of Fever Queen vinyl LP comes with a 2-sided b/w offset printed lyric insert.
